About Us

NET Midstream provides highly reliable, fee based natural gas transportation services to a broad spectrum of wholesale natural gas customers using its own network of pipeline systems. The Company’s customer base includes human needs end-use markets in some of the largest cities in South Texas and Mexico, as well as natural gas producers in the Eagle Ford Shale production area – both of which demand highly reliable access to key wholesale markets.  The Company uses market knowledge and in-house engineering expertise developed over its 18 year history to continue to deliver unique midstream logistical solutions for its customers.


Today, NET has natural gas pipelines throughout Texas that serve gas markets such as municipalities, local gas distribution companies and gas-fired power plants. NET’s gas pipeline systems are also responsible for transporting producer volumes to liquid delivery points as well as gathering wellhead production.


NET Midstream uses its knowledge of natural gas markets, pipeline infrastructure and customer relationships to develop unique midstream solutions for our customers. We provide producers and end-use markets with reliable service, operational flexibility and market insight.


NET Midstream is owned 50% by our founders and 50% by an affiliate of ArcLight Capital Partners, an energy focused private equity fund with over $10 Billion under management. In 2012, NET Midstream entered into a new long-term $200 MM revolving credit facilty funded by 9 banks and led by Wells Fargo and Citi.

NET develops Mission Pipeline in Hidalgo county to provide gas supply for a 477 MW power facility
Acquired and developed South Shore Pipeline, serving the City of Corpus Christi and a 600 MW power facility
Developed Mission Valley Pipeline to serve South Texas Electrical Cooperative’s Sam Rayburn Plant near Nursery, Texas
Acquired Monument Pipeline and added additional facilities to serve citygates in South Houston
ArcLight Capital Partners purchases 50% of NET
Develops LaSalle Pipeline to serve STEC’s Pearsall Power facility
Completes the initial phase of Eagle Ford Midstream anchored by a 100,000 acre dedication from Murphy Exploration & Production
Construction of Phase 2 of Eagle Ford Midstream with deliveries to the Agua Dulce Hub
Development of NET Mexico Pipeline - a 120-mile, 42" and 48" pipeline from the Agua Dulce Hub to the Mexican Border. Awarded 2.1 Bcf/d contract with MGI Supply, a subsidiary of Pemex.


NET Midstream was founded in 1996 by Jerry Dearing and Joe Gutierrez. The founders continue to serve as Co-Presidents of NET Midstream. In 2007, an affiliate of ArcLight Capital Partners purchased an equity interest in NET Midstream.

Jerry Dearing

NET Midstream Co-President

Mr. Dearing is a cofounder of NET Midstream.  Mr. Dearing has been an executive in the energy industry since 1984, with major responsibilities in business development, marketing, and asset management.  Prior to founding NET in 1996, he held various executive positions at Destec Energy (a Dow Chemical Company affiliate that later became Dynegy) including responsibilities for fuel management, power marketing and business management.

Joe Gutierrez

NET Midstream Co-President

Mr. Gutierrez is a cofounder of NET Midstream. Mr. Gutierrez has over 30 years experience in the natural gas industry, including a ten-year tenure at Mobil Natural Gas Inc. (“MNGI”), a division of Mobil Oil Corporation. At MNGI, he held various positions including scheduling, transportation, trading, and origination in all regions across the U.S. Prior to MNGI, he held positions with Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America, a major interstate pipeline company serving the Midwest.

Drew Tingleaf

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Tingleaf has served as NET’s CFO since 2007 and has over 20 years of experience in the corporate finance, natural gas and power marketing industries. Mr. Tingleaf has held positions in natural gas and power structuring, origination and corporate development with Enron North America, Cinergy Marketing & Trading, and Fortis Energy Marketing & Trading. Prior to his time in the energy industry, Mr. Tingleaf served as Vice President – Acquisitions for Encompass Services Corporation.

Duncan Rhodes

Managing Director, Business Dev.

Mr. Rhodes has over 20 years of experience in the energy industry with a primary focus in Gas Origination on the North American natural gas pipeline grid.  Mr. Rhodes spent the first half of his career with Transco, and the second half with El Paso and FPL Group.  Prior to joining NET Midstream in 2005, his most recent employment was with the FPL Group where he was sole gas originator for the company and was responsible for restructuring existing transportation and storage portfolios in the Northeast and Texas.

David Marye

Director, Corporate Development

Mr. Marye has over thirteen years of finance and business development experience in the natural gas industry. Prior to joining NET in 2007 he served as Manager of Business Development and Lead Analyst – Strategic Planning for CenterPoint Energy Gas Transmission where he participated in a variety of corporate and business development initiatives including the development of the 42” Carthage to Perryville and Southeast Supply Header pipelines. Prior to business school, Mr. Marye worked for Enron Corp as an analyst in the pipeline, retail and industrial market groups.

Richard Krueger

Managing Director, Midstream Dev.

Mr. Krueger has over 30 years experience in the natural gas industry. His career began at East Ohio Gas where he worked on the company’s gas storage field development program. He then moved to Northern Natural Gas, a subsidiary of Enron Corp., where he primarily focused on underground storage development, operations, and marketing gas transportation services. He left as Vice President of Gas Transportation for an  opportunity with Transok as Vice President responsible for gas acquisition, gas marketing and gas transportation. He moved to a Transok affiliate, CSW Energy, where he was responsible for domestic and international merchant power plant project development. After leaving CSW and spending time at Shell Trading as Midwest Region Vice President of gas and power origination, he started K Energy Inc., which provided energy consulting services and acquired petroleum producing properties.

Joe Mills

Director Engineering / Pipeline Opps.

Mr. Mills has over 31 years of experience in Engineering and Pipeline Operations. His career began at Delhi Gas Pipeline Company where he was a project engineer for natural gas gathering and transmission systems, compressors stations, and gas plants. He also served as a gas processing plant superintendent and provided engineering support for new business development. He later worked for M&H Energy Services in staff and management positions where he supervised project managers, engineers and designers for various onshore pipeline projects. Experience at M&H included technical documentation, regulatory compliance, computerized maintenance management systems and process hazards analysis.  In addition, Mr. Mills has experience in gas pipeline project development, design, and construction management.

Judy Barton, CPA

Treasurer, HR Director

Ms. Barton has over 24 years experience in the natural gas industry. Before joining the Company in 2005, she held a variety of positions in accounting and financial analysis during her nine year tenure at Mobil Oil Corp and Mobil Natural Gas Inc. Ms. Barton worked at Amoco Corp. and then joined Koch Energy Inc. when she held a variety of positions including Manager of Financial Reporting, and Director of Accounting.

Sachin Patel

Chief Risk and Compliance Officer

Mr. Patel joined NET in 2007 and brings over ten years of energy risk management experience to the firm.  Mr. Patel joined NET from Calpine Energy Services where he was responsible for supervising a team that monitored the market risks of the wholesale gas and power business.  Additional responsibilities included collaboration with commercial executives to develop and implement enterprise-wide risk management solutions.  Prior to his tenure at Calpine, Mr. Patel worked for TXU Energy where he was involved in the creation of the firm’s wholesale and retail Risk Management division including risk analytics for gas and power.
